Situated in the hills above Camaiore this beautiful villa has the advantage of being close to the stylish Versilian coast and the historic towns of Lucca, Pisa and Pietrasanta. The gardens extend to steeply terraced olive groves and chestnut woods. At a height of 208 meters above sea level the fabulous views from the garden and rear terrace extend out across the coast and sea to the islands of Gorgona and even Elba on a clear day. The famous marble quarries of Carrara are a short drive away and the magnificent Apuan Alps rise almost from the doorstep.

The centre of Camaiore is only 1.5km where you will find a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The area is famous for its regional food and the variety of wonderful restaurants – from marvellous sea-food specialities in the coastal restaurants to the food of the inland mountains. This area is know for its wild boar and funghi, cured meats, sausages and salami, fabulous olive oils and cheeses, and an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit, local asparagus in the spring, artichokes, and ripe sweet tomatoes - many grown in local gardens and hand picked on the day you buy them! Immaculate, manicured beaches are only 15 minutes drive away. Here you will find clean seas, perfect sand and fantastic facilities providing loungers, umbrellas, showers and changing rooms. There are small bars and restaurants to cater to your every need during your days on the beach. In the cool of the evenings you can dine along the coast in restaurants serving exquisite sea-food dishes while listening to the lapping of the waves on the beach. Alternatively you may choose to dine alfresco, on the terrace at ‘home’, whilst watching the twinkling of fireflies as they weave their way through the ancient olive grove. An architect designed swimming pool is located in the gardens behind the house.

Accommodation

The main entrance is from a furnished terrace where there is a teak dining table and chairs with umbrella and Italian built-in barbecue. Ground Floor: Large reception hall combines as a study area and library. To the left and down three steps there is a long living/dining room/kitchen. At one end a cosy living area, with sofa and easy chairs, is set around a large fireplace with woodburning stove. At the other end, with french doors opening out onto stone terraces, is a large dining table and a very well-equipped kitchen including oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Still on the ground floor and from the main hall a small passageway leads to cloakroom; utility room with washing machine, ironing board etc; and a twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom with bath. First Floor: At the top of the stairs you enter directly into a light and elegantly furnished drawing room with wonderful views of the sea, coast and the twinkling lights of Viareggio by night. The drawing room opens onto a furnished terrace with direct access to the swimming pool and upper levels of the garden. Double bedroom with adjoining bathroom with shower.
