Il Gelso is one of the most superbly located villas you will come across. The views are sensational, the tranquility perfect and, despite the fact that two lively towns lie within 10 minutes drive, the only sounds you tend to hear at Gelso are the birdsong and the chorus of crickets. Situated half way between the two regional capitals, Macerata and Ascoli Piceno, in the seemingly endless panorama of the Sibilline Mountains, Il Gelso is to be found in the heart of the Sibilline Mountains National Park. The house is set amidst extensive grounds and, with its stupendous views and large private swimming pool, makes for an idyllic holiday retreat. The little cottage, Gelsomino, stands in the garden grounds and serves as an annex to Gelso in order to extend the accommodation of Il Gelso from 8 to 12 persons. The Piceno region is a picture postcard delight of gentle hills, small fortified hill-towns with their fortresses, trendy seaside towns and some excellent child-friendly, sandy beaches. The Sibillini Mountain Park (which adjoins the Gran Sasso and Laga Mountain National Park without interruption) is an ideal place for walking, bird watching, mountain biking and horse-riding. Visitors can admire the stunning Piana del Castelluccio or Mount Vettore with lake Pilato, home to the unique and rare Chirocephalus of Marchesony. The Adriatic coast can be reached within about 40 minutes whilst, remaining inland, various little towns and picturesque villages make for interesting daily sight-seeing excursions. The two local villages of Amandola and Sarnano are lively and fun with shops, restaurants and bars and both with good weekly markets.
Accommodation
Ground floor: french doors from the garden open into a large comfortably furnished living room with archway through to spacious open plan living area which runs the full length of the house. This area combines a second sitting area around the fireplace, dining area and kitchen with oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and french doors onto garden. Spacious hallway with main entrance doors and stairs to first floor. Utility room with washing machine. Bathroom with shower. First floor: Two double bedrooms. One double/twin. One twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath and shower. When renting for 12 persons the cottage annex, Gelsomino, is opened up to provide the extra accommodation. Gelsomino is an excellent cottage, full of character with exposed stonework, heavily beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. Ground floor: Comfortably furnished living room with open fireplace and beamed ceilings. Well-equipped kitchen with oven and hob and fridge. Bathroom with shower. First floor: Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower.
NB. In High season Gelso and Gelsomino are rented out as a whole for 12 persons. In Mid and Low seasons Gelso or Gelsomino can be rented independently in which case, the other will be unavailable for rental in order to ensure privacy is retained.

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €300, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.
Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
