Villa la Castellaccia is is a wonderfully historical Tuscan house with a tower that dates from 1000 A.D. Subsequent additions dating from 1600-1700 have created a magnificent country house where high ceilings and frescoed walls are complimented by antique furnishings. The Villa is situated on the gentle slopes of the Tiber valley, on the border of Tuscany and Umbria and, whilst you enjoy fabulous views of the valley, a walled park with mature trees and its own vineyard surround the estate, offering great privacy.
The gated entrance leads you into the extensive grounds of this elegant Villa which comprises two true villa wings and a private chapel. The owners live in the East Wing where they also run a small two bedroom bed and breakfast. The West Wing is completely independent with private terrace, garden and swimming pool. From the terrace you can admire the valley, the superb view of the town of Sansepolcro, birhplace of Piero della Francesca, and the "Alpe della Luna" mountains. Several steps down from the terrace lead through the garden wall to the garden and swimming pool.
A holiday in this wonderful villa is to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside whilst, being on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, having the advantage of a perfect base for exploration and sightseeing. The house is very close to Anghiari, a fantastic and perfectly preserved medieval hill town and home to the famous Busatti linens; Caprese Michelangelo (The Artist's Birthplace) and Monterchi. All towns of artistic and historical interest, they also boast a number of excellent and traditional Tuscan restaurants catering for all tastes. In about an hours drive the towns of Arezzo, Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and Urbino can be reached whilst Florence, Siena and the Republic of S.Marino are only one and half hours by car, as is the Adriatic Coast. For the active guest the Montedoglio Lake, only 5 minutes away, is excellent for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. For horse riding the local riding school is only 5 minutes away. Hiking enthusiasts can walk for hundreds of miles on unspoiled mountain trails with breathtaking views at every bend. Golfers are favoured with the Antoniolla Golf & Country Club, a splendid 18 hole par 71 course, located half hour from the villa.

The West Wing enjoys a private furnished terrace and garden with swimming pool. The rest of the extensive garden grounds are shared with the owner and where you will also find boules (bowling) and table tennis.

Pool details
The private swimming pool is 10m x 5m with a constant depth of 1.5m and ladders for entry/exit. It is for the exclusive use of the Villa's West Wing and is set in its own garden grounds. The pool can be lit in the evenings so you can extend your days by the pool and really enjoy those warm Tuscan evening dips. Near to the swimming pool is a pool house with comfortable changing room, toilet and wash hand basin. On the outside is a hot water shower.

Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.30 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
