Formichine is a wonderfully private independent villa located down a quiet counrty lane in the countryside between the Tiber River and the Sabine Hills. The charm of this relatively unknown area, with its olive groves and vineyards and its proximity to the medieval and renaissance delights of Italy, makes it a wonderful place for a perfectly relaxing and cultural holiday. Packed with touring options including several beautiful abbeys, the city of Viterbo and the many medieval villages dotted among the hills, in this idyllic location you are also within easy reach of the hill towns of Etruria, Umbria and southern Tuscany: Orvieto and Assisi are each only 70km away, while Rome and Viterbo (with all the Etruscan sites) are within 50km. Also within easy reach for day trips are Perugia, Arezzo and Siena. The train station, with a frequent service to Rome, is in Stimigliano only 8km away and the small town of Poggio Mirteto, with shops, restaurants and good weekly markets is 6km. There are many excellent traditional, and untouristy, restaurants located in this area and a supermarket is within 5km.
Accommodation
Main house - Up cotto tiled steps into a large spacious living room with large open fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating, wooden ceilings with large chestnut beams. To the right a dining room with dining table and chairs (seating for six) and large dresser. From dining room down a couple of steps into a well equipped kitchen with door to garden, fridge/freezer, dresser, oven (electric) and hob (gas), dishwasher, small marble topped kitchen table and chairs. From the kitchen up a few steps into an ante room/small sitting room with double bed settee and fireplace and stairs up to double bedroom with double bed, settee and en suite bathroom with shower.
Back in the living room; to the lower left is a spacious double bedroom with double aspect views to the rear garden and valley to the side. Again from the living room to the left another doorway into a spacious twin bedroom with excellent views and exposed beams. Small bathroom with shower.
Top RHS of sitting room into an ante room/study area with bathroom off with half tub with shower. Stone stairs up into twin bedroom with restricted height french windows with safety railing and views over garden and pool (gently sloping lean-to roof below).
From the garden you gain entrance into a self contained garden/games room with comfy seating for 12 – 15 people, vaulted ceilings, snooker table, dining table and chairs. Small bathroom just to the outside with shower, whb and wc.
Grounds
Formichine is a property with extensive mature gardens, olive grove, fig trees, large traditional and excellent views. The swimming pool is situated in the garden grounds and, with plenty of garden and poolside furniture provided, makes a wonderful place for sitting around and relaxing.

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €350, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure
