Commanding story-book views of the enchanting Val di Sieve and built around a medieval watchtower, Villa Palagio in Chianti is a large Tuscan farmhouse positioned in the heart of its own winery. All of its sitting rooms and bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and splendidly furnished to a very high standard in classic Tuscan style with many fine Italian antiques. The property has recently undergone complete refurbishment, yet the owners have been careful to preserve the villa's original character and an atmosphere of past times. The outside terrace, with panoramic views, is situated above the swimming pool to the left of the villa. The pool, measuring 12m x 6m is reached by ancient stone steps leading down to the apple orchard, itself surrounded by a marvellous grape pergola, with easy access to the changing rooms beneath the terrace. In a sheltered and shaded area to the rear of Palagio, guests can also enjoy the professional clay tennis court.
Villa Palagio is ideally located for taking advantage of the wide range of cultural opportunities, with Florence, the Chianti region, San Gimignano, Siena, and Arezzo all being within easy reach by train or car. Located within the DOCG Chianti Rufina area, the estate produces the world famous Chianti Rufina as well as excellent olive oil. The natural and artistic beauty of the Valdisieve valley makes it possible for guests to enjoy different excursions according to their interests.
Accommodation
Ground Floor Entrance is through one of the main front two doors through handsome arches into the large inner courtyard. The kitchen is on this level together with other rooms for the staff.
First Floor From the internal courtyard a large stairway takes you up to a lobby on the first floor. To the left is a living room with a fireplace, the TV room and a study, all with windows overlooking the vineyards in the valley. Past the study is a corridor. This leads to a double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bathtub, and then to a twin bedroom with a bathroom with bathtub beside it. To the right of the entrance lobby is another corridor which leads to a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower. Single bedroom with a connecting door into another double room which can be opened if required. Further on the large dining room overlooks the garden. From the dining room another corridor leads to a double bedroom with en suite bathroom with tub, and a single bedroom. At the end of the corridor a large sitting room opens onto a twin bedroom and a double bedroom sharing a bathroom with bathtub.
The Villa is offered here for a maximum of 12 people. For an extra cost of Euro 300 per person in the high season and Euro 250 per person in the lower season up to four extra people can be accommodated.
Grounds
The villa is surrounded by extensive garden grounds with terraces and lawned gardens. The swimming pool is situated in the walled gardens below the villa immersed in the greenery of the olive and fruit trees. The tennis court is located to the side of the villa next to the woodland.

Weekly rental price
Quoted above is the villa's weekly rental price for a maximum of 12 people. For an additional cost of £300 per person in high season and £250 per person in the lower season up to four extra guests can be accommodated.

Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.30 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
