Estate Overview

Amongst the picturesque and verdant Tuscan hills, looking into a valley of olive groves and vineyards you catch sight of the little hamlet of Tenuta Sant'Ilario. This stunning estate of around 60 hectares is set in the Fiorentine Chianti hills a few kilometres from the major art cities of Tuscany; Florence, San Gimignano, Siena and Volterra.

The estate is surrounded by a landscape of olive groves and vineyards where you can enjoy the magnificent Tuscan countryside while walking or relaxing in the gardens. Ambling further into the valley you reach the creeks and small waterfalls formed by the streams that feed into the estate. The Tenuta Sant'Ilario is located on the edge of Gambassi Terme close to San Gimignano, in a beautiful hilly area with breathtaking views over the Tuscan hills and Mediterranean nature.

Thanks to its excellent position, from Tenuta Sant’Ilario you can easily reach places of interest like San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Florence and Pisa for days out exploring the museums, galleries and monuments but also the shops with the best Italian style clothes - at the Sant’Ilario reception, staff will give you information about the designer outlets where you can purchase all kinds of designer clothes and accessories at vastly discounted prices.

Near the Tenuta Sant'Ilario there is a lovely little town, Gambassi Terme, where you will find bars and shops and many typical Tuscan restaurants where you whilst away the evenings with some great food and wine during your holidays in Tuscany. Nearby the estate there are many wine cellars where you can make a wine tour and taste the wonderful Tuscan wine.

The hamlet of Tenuta Sant'Ilario is composed of independent villas with private swimming pools, self-contained apartments and junior suites. The suites are set in the main villa and all of them overlook the courtyard of the former convent.

The main building is a former convent from the 12th century, here there is a breakfast room where you can have breakfast with sweet and savoury dishes including; milk, coffee, cappuccino, fruit juice, cheese and sliced cold meats, brioches, pastries, fruit tarts and other cakes. If you prefer a more private arrangement, breakfast can be served directly in your room.

The apartments and suites at Tenuta Sant'Ilario have at their disposal a large 18 x 6m swimming pool that is located in the garden grounds where you can take advantage of the beautiful views. There are sun loungers aplenty and a shady loggia for those who prefer not to bake all the day.  

Villa Cabbiallina and Villa Montagnola both have their own private pools.

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
