The Castle of Palazzo di Piero was founded in 1599, by Fabio Sozzi, a soldier of fortune of Tuscany. It is set in parkland among traditional vineyards and olive groves which are still actively farmed. An avenue of trees, nearly 1km long, runs through the park, and sweeps into the courtyard of the Castello itself.

The forecourt is formally landscaped with tall cypresses and a line of topiary-trimmed box trees, framing woods in which visitors may walk. The main building is castellated and the whole is dominated from the front by its elegant five-arched loggiatio and bell tower. It is situated in one of the most idyllic parts of Tuscany, nestled among secular holm-oaks, pines, vineyards, olive groves, ponds and creeks.

The Castle accommodation is arranged on two floors and has three double bedrooms, two twins, two singles and three bathrooms. Living-rooms and dining-room are the signs of excellence of this ancient nobiliary residence. The big Park of the Castle, developed on three levels, is in part an Italian garden style and in part a collection of rare and exotic trees.

Palazzo di Piero has that special charm of Etruscan sites. It is located close to Sarteano with its pool of natural spring waters, Chianciano famous for its thermal water, and Chiusi rich in fascinating archeological sites. This area offers not only a variety of outdoor activities but also an interesting departure point for learning about the culture and traditions of this region.
