Tetti Marquet is situated in lovely countryside just 10km north of Lake Bolsena at the crossroads of Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany. Bordered to the north by Tuscany and to the east by Umbria, Tetti Marquet is situated in a land of gently rolling countryside, volcanic craters that gave rise to the beautiful and uncontaminated lakes of Bolsena and Vico, thermal pools popular in the treatment of various ailments, and medieval hilltop villages (Civita di Bagnoregio, Orvieto, Orte, Montefiasone, Tarquinia to name but a few). Within 10 to 15 minutes drive, the lake of Bolsena provides beaches for lazing or picnics, a wide range of water sports, spectacular scenery, and three thriving little towns: Bolsena, Marta and Capodimonte. Bolsena, on the northern shore, has a museum full of Etruscan relics, a fine medieval castle, some picturesque alleys, and two early churches. Marta and Capodimonte, on the southern shores, are pretty little villages with beaches and from where you can organise boat trips around Isola Bisentina. To the south is Viterbo, with its papal palace from the middle ages, and the Tarquinian necropolis. To the west, Sorano and Pitigliano, of medieval importance and interest, are picturesquely striking up on their hills. For gastronomic delights you are offered the chance to sample the local specialities: various lake fish in the villages around lake Bolsena, mushrooms at Vetralla, chestnuts at Soriano al Cimino, beef steak at Monteromano, wine at Montefiascone and many, many more! The beaches of the Maremma can be reached in under an hour and Rome, Siena and Florence are all accessible for day trips. A holiday here is to experience a taste of the old Italy and an extremely laid-back way of life. The owner is very welcoming and particularly knowledgeable about the region and is happy to suggest some very interesting local excursions.

Accommodation

Tetti Marquet comprises two cottages that are rented out together to form accommodation to sleep 6/7 persons with private pool.

Sleeping 4/5 people the main house comprises of a large comfortable living/dining room with open fireplace, sofa-bed, television and CD player. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave oven. Utility room with washing machine. Double bedroom furnished with antique furniture and complete with en-suite bathroom with shower. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower. Wide hallway with a good selection of books (English and Italian) on the bookshelves and door to spacious private terrace equipped with table and chairs for dining alfresco.

The little cottage next to the main house sleeps 2 and is ideal for a couple or older children. From a covered furnished terrace, complete with dining table and chairs and sitting area, entrance is into open plan accommodation incorporating a double bedroom, a suitably equipped kitchen corner and separate bathroom with shower.

Both houses are comfortably furnished and with central heating are available for rent at any time of year.

Grounds

The cottages open onto their own wide sunny terraces furnished with tables and chairs for dining alfresco. The swimming pool is situated in the grounds to the side of the house, and with plenty of poolside furniture and umbrellas on its wide sunny terrace, makes an ideal place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a refreshing swim.

There is a well stocked vegetable garden and guests are invited to help themselves to the seasonal produce. Fig trees around the property are plentiful of sweet ripe fruits in July and September and guests are welcome to help themselves - eat enough and what you will have saved from buying them at tesco's will have paid for your holiday!

Prices quoted from September are the daily rental rates for Tetti Marquet.

Traditional Tuscany are pleased to be able to offer the possibility of flexible start days (excluding Sunday's) and rental periods at Tetti Marquet, meaning that you could book a 10 day holiday starting on a Wednesday and departing on a Saturday for example. Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
