In the last century the borgo thrived as a small independent village with its main central Villa and surrounding farmhouses. Today, the main villa has been transformed into a charming and comfortable 4* hotel and restaurant, whilst the traditional Tuscan farmhouses have been meticulously restored to provide luxurious and characterful self catering accommodations within the generous garden grounds complete with swimming pool.
With the air alive with the fragrance of lavender, on arrival at Borgo Il Melone you behold a stretch of bright green fields partially covered by lively patches of flowers ranging from the deep red of the roses to the delicate purple of lavender shrubs and the dark green of rosemary bushes. The Borgo comprises of almost 9 acres of meadow, gardens and woodland with eight spacious farmhouse apartments and a 4 star hotel. All the apartments are equipped with fully fitted kitchens, central heating, telephone, satellite TV, internet access and are furnished in an elegant and comfortable country style.
The Borgo also offers its guests a choice of dining experiences with an elegant Restaurant and a Tavern-Wine Bar both located on site. Designed to meet the different needs of the guests - be it an elegant and refined dinner to celebrate a special occasion or a light meal in a homely and cozy environment - the food selection of both premises boasts recipes that are colorful and tasty, prepared according to the local cooking traditions and seasoned with a touch of originality.
A state-of-the-art swimming pool, equipped with a relaxing whirlpool area, showers and a changing room, is situated in a quiet reserved area of the Borgo. Here you can swim and relax surrounded by the glorious Tuscan countryside and the hills of Cortona.
Cortona, in August, becomes the centre of music and a cultural point of reference with a long list of literary and artistic initiatives. The Tuscan Sun Festival of Cortona, is now recognised as one of the most important classic worldwide music events; The Financial Times defined it "a festival which satisfies the thirst of soul". Even the life at Borgo Il Melone is filled with music when every Monday, from June to September, guests can enjoy the musical events held in the Limonaia (lemon house).

Five steps lead down to the front door which opens into a small hallway. Living/dining room with double sofa-bed. Kitchen (oven and hob, fridge/freezer). Two twin/double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower. Single bedroom. Private furnished terrace.

On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €260, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.
Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 17.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
