Fattorie Gianozzi, situated in the heart of the Chianti region, makes an ideal base from which to visit Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and the castles in the area. Each of these rural Tuscan buildings has been restored to provide traditionally rustic and comfortable accommodation. The garden grounds are spacious, with good views and plenty of garden furniture. The swimming pool is situated in the grounds overlooking the vineyards. The local village, where you will find shops, bank, restaurants and tennis courts is about 2km away. Horse riding is to be found within 8km, and an 18 hole golf course within 25km. Many of the area’s historic sights including, Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra and Lucca are easily accessible for day visits and Florence and Siena are within about half an hours drive. The surrounding hills are crammed with picturesque but untouristy hill-towns and castles such as Staggia and Castello di Strozzavolpe. Gianozzi is very well situated for ambitious sightseeing: the Chianti towns of Greve and Castellina are within easy reach; it’s only 28km to Siena which rivals Florence in musical, artistic and historic interest, while outdoing it with the famous Palio in July and again in August; Colle di Val d’Elsa, birthplace of Arnolfo di Cambrio who built the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, is also well worth a visit, it has a fine medieval centro storico and is also noted for some of Italy’s finest crystal. There are several castles in the area, which all make for interesting excursions, or you can take in the atmosphere of the fairs and festivals taking place in the medieval hamlets. The lucky visitor can watch the “Giostra dell’ Oca” jousting tournament, where local riders compete on their horses. For traditional Tuscan cuisine, several restaurants, including two ‘top class’ establishments, are within ten minutes drive.

Security Deposit

On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrival Times

Arrivals expected between 15.00 - 18.30 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
