Sitting at the feet of the Pratomagno mountains the Borro estate is located in a perfect position isolated amidst 700 hectares of vineyards, olive trees, walnut groves and pasture land. The picturesque village with its medieval urban plan dominates the estate and in typical Tuscan tradition the farmhouses are scattered over the surrounding land. The houses have all been carefully restored to preserve the regional style and character of their rustic origins whilst providing a level of comfort that would satisfy even the most discerning traveller. In medieval times the village houses were surrounded by high walls, and a drawbridge was the only point of entrance. Both the village houses and the fabulous old colonial villas have each been carefully restored so as to protect their Tuscan origins. A welcome pack (fruit, coffee, tea, milk and some yummy extras!) is provided.

Whilst on the estate a wide range of activities are available including horse riding and fishing. In October and November guests are welcome to join in the grape and olive harvest, and to be part of the wine and oil making process, with hands on participation if you so wish ! A friendly, elegant restaurant offers an opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal either inside, or in the adjacent garden. On a winter evening you can eat by candlelight in front of a glowing log fire. This is luxury accommodation for the discerning traveller. For those who like to know the history, Il Borro estates centrepiece is the wonderful 11th-Century medieval village. The village was all almost destroyed by German forces in WWII, who bombed the hamlet’s main villa before retreating from the British Army. Il Borro is an act of faith that takes us back in time.

Pool details

The pool for the village houses is situated behind the restaurant with lovely views, a few minutes walk down the road. The farmhouses of Poggio Piano and Casa Piano have oval pools set in their garden grounds and which are shered between the four apartments in each.

Security Deposit

On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrival Times

Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
