Le Coloniche is a beautifully restored 17th century villa set high on the Montalbano hills amongst olive-groves, orchards and woods. It offers an extraordinary view of the beautiful Valdinievole valley and is only few miles away from the most important art cities in Tuscany; Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia and Montecatini Terme. The main House is built on two levels and has seven apartments, all furnished to a very high standard. Villa Perticaia Alta is an independent villa that can be rented out complete for up to 20 guests, or as two independent apartments. To maintain the original atmosphere and the old-world charm of the Tuscan countryside lifestyle, all the original 17th century structures were preserved, while providing all the modern comforts and services expected by international guests. The original fireplaces have been restored as have the chestnut beams both inside and out. All rental apartments are provided with dishwasher, refrigerator, washing machine, oven, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, safe, telephone with direct external lines, tv with satellite and central heating.
At Le Coloniche you can relax by the swimming pool, take walks along the woodland paths, ride a bike or go golfing at the nearby golf course… choose from these pleasures as your heart desires and make your next holiday in Tuscany truly unforgettable. Le Coloniche is situated in the rural district of Serravalle Pistoiese, whose history dates back to the high middle ages. In Serravalle Pistoiese there are the remains of Barbarossa’s 6th century tower and a 12th century tower built by the army leader Castruccio Castracani. For lovers of tradition and art a trip to Pistoia is a must, in every street in its ancient centre you can find churches, arcades, bell towers, baptistries, forts, black and green striped marble buildings arched windows, terracotta and statues. In the Piazza del Mercato you will find traditional shops and an outdoor fruit and vegetable market, their products and typical local dishes such as il neccio, il biroldo, la cioncia and i roventini. For sport lovers, golf, tennis, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, spa baths, massages, mud and beauty, treatments, exercise and diet regimes, are available at Montecatini Terme, which is famous for it’s liberty style spa, well equipped sports centres, parks for walking and relaxing and last but not least, an abundance of shops and restaurants. For children (young and old), how about spending a day with the cat and the fox, in the whale’s tummy or with the blue fairy in the fantastic world of Pinocchio’s park at Collodi. There is also the zoo at Pistoia where you can discover both the local and the exotic. If all this isn’t enough, there is always the classical Tuscan Itineries just a few kilometres away, Florence, Siena, Chianti, Pisa, Lucca, Versilia, San Gimignano and Volterra. Then, after visiting all these wonderful places, you can come back to Le Coloniche and share your experiences over a glass of wine or a game of cards in the tavern or a chat by the side of the pool...
