Stimigliano is a quaint 14th century village with a post office and shops of every kind, including pharmacy, bakery and grocery store. Good restaurants can be found within 5-10 km. Pizzeria ristorante less than 1km and in the main square of the village there is a nice Cafe' and a mini-market. This area was the "breadbasket of ancient Rome" and ruins of the Roman markets can be found next to the nearby Abbey of Vescovio. The Sabine Hills are still known for fresh fruits, vegetables, and wonderful olive oil. The charm of this unspoiled area, with its olive groves and vineyards and its proximity to the medieval and renaissance delights of Rome, make it a special place to rest, to visit and to enjoy yourselves. Here, you are within easy day trips to the hill towns of Umbria (Orvieto, Assisi, Cortona, Todi). Stimigliano (walking distance), in the district of Rieti, there is a station from which the train leaves for Rome (Tiburtina station) every 40 min, and takes 50 min. A train leaves every hour to Rome airport. By car, Stimigliano is 12km from the A1 highway that runs between Rome and Florence.

This is a wonderfully quirky house offering a wealth of original features and very spacious accommodation. Ground floor: French window to kitchen/dining room (hob, microwave, fridge/freezer). Leading off the kitchen is passage to a small grotto with its original arch, further along this passage is a small bathroom (WC, washing machine and sink), turkish bath, and room with 1 single bed + 1 sofa bed with wide french door to the garden. From the dining area an archway leads to a comfortable living room with french doors to the garden, staircase to first floor. First floor: Spacious hallway with door out to garden/terrace. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower. Spacious double bedroom with terrace and large en-suite bathroom with shower. Dogs allowed!
