Il Cerro S. Francesco, located on a sunny hilltop, overlooks the superb landscape of the Tuscany countryside, with a view of the small medieval village of Orciatico and Etruscan town of Volterra. The farm extends over undulating hills on both sides of the road to Orciatico, surrounded by Mediterranean woods, inside a local fauna preservation area. The farm, near Volterra and San Gimignano, is surrounded by vineyards and wonderful views, yet in under an hour's drive the main art towns of Tuscany; Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, are all within easy reach. The old medieval village of Orciatico, in the Commune of Lajatico (Pisa), was in the past a Longobard castle, part of the defence system protecting the western part of Tuscany. The Gualandi family, who own the farm, had a great influence in the history of the Seafaring Republic of Pisa (Dante Alighieri, Divina Commedia, Inferno). The cultivations here are the most traditional of Tuscan agriculture: vineyards, olive-groves and wheat. Guests are at liberty to purchase typical local home-made products including wine and extra virgin olive oil. The position of Il Cerro offers the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of holiday experiences with the main art cities, beaches and sporting opportunities all being so accessible. It is bound to appeal to those who are seeking a peaceful rural retreat whilst allowing the possibility for some serious sightseeing. The swimming pool is situated in the gardens behind the farmhouse where plenty of outdoor furniture is provided for those wishing to dine alfresco whilst admiring the fabulous views the position of Il Cerro S. Security Deposit

On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrival Times

Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.30 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
