In the country land of Volterra, and with magnificent views to the Etruscan town of Volterra and the valley of high Valdera from its doorstep, the farming estate of Il Cerro San Francesco extends over undulating hills, inside a local conservation area, on the road to the pretty little medieval village of Orciatico.
Here you can enjoy a very Italian holiday, with all the pleasures of being in a spectacular countryside setting in the heart of Tuscany and having the picturesque medieval village of Orciatico virtually on your doorstep. Orciatico, was in the past a Longobard castle, part of the defence system protecting the western part of Tuscany. Today it is where you will find a typically Tuscan and very good little restaurant, a few small shops and the village café/bar. A larger supermarket, various shops, bank, pharmacy etc. are located at Lajatico and La Sterza, both within a five to ten minute drive.
Il Cerro San Francesco's location also makes it ideal as a base for exploration and sightseeing with the Tuscan art cities of Pisa, Siena, Florence and Lucca all within about an hour's drive. Closer to home you have the wonderful Etruscan town of Volterra, with an excellent choice of restaurants and some very good shopping facilities and San Gimignano with its towers and fine medieval centre. For those who like to feel a bit of sand beneath their feet, seaside and beaches are also within an hour's drive.
The apartments are all furnished in a harmonious country style and all have the benefit of being fitted with fly screens and central heating making this a comfortable property all year round. The swimming pool is situated in the garden grounds behind the farmhouse to give you the opportunity to soak up th best of the views. Plenty of outdoor furniture is provided, with sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool and tables and chairs on the terrace and under the gazebo. The cultivations around the farm are the most traditional of Tuscan agriculture and viniculture; vineyards, olive-groves and wheat. Guests are welcome to purchase the local home-made products which include the estates own wines and extra virgin olive oil.
Accommodation
This first floor apartment is approached via a wide external stairway and is furnished in a pleasant country style; Living room with double sofa bed, chestnut beams and terracotta brick ceiling, well equipped kitchen corner and wooden stairway to mezzanine with double bed. Double bedroom with good views. Large bathroom with shower. Air conditioning upon request (10 euros per day).
Grounds
Well maintained, generous garden grounds with lawns, furnished gazebo and terraces making it a pleasure to sit out at any time of the day to enjoy the fabulous views and the warm Tuscan sun.

Security Deposit
