Just over the hills from Florence, among rolling countryside and tall cypress trees, standing against the backdrop of the mountain passes and crests, we find the Mugello territory. Still waters, pleasant countryside, hard-working amiable people, wholesome food, the lands of the Medici and numerous historical estates are within your reach.
Poggio a Sieve is situated in this 'green heart' of Tuscany. Originally a 15th century signal tower, with additions from the 16th century onwards, it is surrounded by a garden with a huge romanesque swimming pool and ample parking.
In the Mugello, guests can explore the native towns of the Medici, Giotto and Beato Angelico, all of whom played a part in the Italian Renaissance. A short walk away is the small town of Vicchio with shops, restaurants and a good sports centre. Borgo San Lorenzo is within a five minute drive or bus ride and from there you can catch the train into Florence or Bologna, both exciting and vibrant cities to visit.
Tennis and horse riding are available within 5km and, for the golfers, within 16km in the area of Scarperia, is the fine “Poggio dei Medici” Golf Course. At a similar distance Lake Bilancino also has attractions for the sporting guest, especially sailing.
Poggio a Sieve is a place where you can really have a relaxing holiday but it also makes a wonderful base for discovering traces of Italian history and art. The accommodations here provide excellent value with many of our guests returning time and time again to this estate. The apartments are comfortable and well furnished with period items that blend with the rustic Tuscan style and good kitchen facilities with full ovens for a fully self catering experience. All have central heating and are available for holiday rental throughout the year.

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.
Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
