Situated in the unspoilt region of Maremma, a natural paradise that has successfully maintained all its beauty and uniqueness throughout the passing of time, is Fattoria San Lorenzo. Once the homes of labourers who worked on reclaimed land, San Lorenzo is now surrounded by 450 hectares of sunflower and tomato fields, fruit orchards and splendid gardens. Here one may pick tomatoes in the kitchen gardens or fresh fruit from the orchards, delicious to eat on the spot or to feast on during a long leisurely lunch.
The Maremma is a fascinating coastal plain where historically interesting towns, with wonderfully atmospheric alleyways, shops, traditional taverns, and fine medieval centres sit prettily against the backdrop of the Uccellina Natural Park and the seaside. Being only 5 minutes drive from the beach and immersed in wonderful surroundings, San Lorenzo offers various entertainments; from a swim in sea to guided tours of the Uccellina National Park, boat trips and pony trekking with lunch on the beach.
The farmhouses here have been renovated with respect for their origins and history whilst sympathetically introducing modern amenities. Inside these ancient dwellings, amidst the characteristic terracotta tiles and beamed ceilings, you will find comfortable accommodation all with modern bathrooms, kitchens, TV, air-conditioning and central heating.
The farmhouses are dotted over the estate and are about 500m away from each other providing a total of 30 apartments between them. Each has its own swimming pool, garden grounds, plenty of outdoor and pool-side furniture and barbecues for guests who enjoy alfresco cooking facilities. Once a week, in July and August, a typical Tuscan dinner dance is organized on the estate.

All have air-conditioning, telephone, hair dryer, satellite TV, and furnished terraces. There is also a shop where you can buy groceries including; pasta, bread, honey and organically grown fresh fruit and vegetables ‘home-grown’ on the estate. There is a good restaurant on the estate that serves typical Tuscan cuisine.
