Florence is a city which is both unique and incomparable. An extraordinary blend between the old and the new, it is a bustling metropolis that has managed to preserve its predominantly medieval street plan and renaissance infrastructure. Renaissance architecture, fabulous gardens, street markets, pavement cafés, marvelous restaurants and a maze of shops all combine to make Florence a fascinating and memorable experience. In all, a truly inspiring city and a culture seeker’s paradise mingled with the hustle and bustle of modern day living. These Florence city apartments are in the Palazzetto Sannini, near the church of Santo Spirito, planned in the 14th century by Brunelleschi. The origins of the palace like that of the city quarter of Oltrarno, are from the Renaissance. The first official documents of the property are in the census ordered by Granduke Cosimo I de Medici dating from the mid 15th century. The history of the Palazzetto through the centuries accompanies that of illustrious noble families, until it was acquired in the second half of the 1800's by the family of the present owners. The building has an eighteenth century facade reminiscent of the Renaissance, whilst internally it has been restructured through the years maintaining, however, the original style. The most recent works, realized after the disastrous flood of November 1966, were awarded the “Giulio Marchi” prize for the quality of the restoration. Today these Florentine palace apartments offer a charming eighteenth century atmosphere and are dedicated to women important in History and Culture. There are six “Residenze d’Epoca” of different sizes. Each apartment has a cooking area, TV, telephone and a weekly cleaning service. The bathrooms are all equipped with bath and shower. The palace is serviced by an elevator.
