Il Molino is a converted ancient water mill, the old stone wheel is still visible, situated in a wooded valley just below the medieval town of Proceno. The cottages, Molino and Pioppi, stand a few dozen metres from the owners house and both are independent of each other with their own parking space, private garden and barbecue. The swimming pool is situated in a spacious garden with lawns and pretty plants and shrubs, bordering tilled fields and surrounded by poplars, elms and century-old oaks.
Proceno, perched on the hill above Il Molino, offers all facilities and shops including, an excellent restaurant, café/bar, pizzeria, bank, news agents, wine shop, grocers etc. Within about 20 minutes drive is the Lake of Bolsena with its beaches for lazing or picnics, a wide range of water sports, boat trips and spectacular drives around it. To the south is Viterbo, with its papal palace from the middle ages, and the Tarquinian necropolis. To the west Sorano and Pitigliano, of medieval importance and interest, are picturesquely striking up on their hills. Orvieto, to the east, is the site of one of Italy’s most artistically attractive cathedrals. This area rewards discovery, yet remains within acceptable driving distance for day trips to Florence, Siena and Rome.
Accommodation
Formerly the old byre this is a wonderful character cottage with a comfortable living room, traditional open fireplace that can be used for cooking and a well-equipped kitchen corner with hob and fridge. Through a little hallway is a double bedroom with doors opening onto a furnished terrace. A large wooden framed mirror - we are talking very large here - acts as a ‘secret’ doorway into the bathroom with shower.
Grounds
The cottage has a private furnished terrace but there is a very spacious garden with swimming pool, bordering tilled fields and surrounded by poplars, elms and century-old oaks.

On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.

Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.30 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure
