Situated in the heart of the Chianti Region on a hill 400m above sea level, Torre Antica is part of the Union of European Historic Houses Association. There are five apartments here and all have been beautifully restored and furnished in the Florentine style, to retain their individual character and charm. The owners are particularly knowledgable about the region, and are happy to suggest some very interesting local excursions.
A well established garden is shaded by tall trees and enjoys an excellently positioned swimming pool with stunning views across the valley towards San Gimignano. The garden is ideal for just sitting and relaxing or for dining alfresco amongst the orange and lemon plants. The location of ‘Torre Antica’ between Florence and Siena makes it an ideal base from which to explore the numerous towns and villages of the Chianti region. There are several castles in the area that make for interesting excursions, or you can take in the atmosphere of the fairs and festivals taking place in the medieval hamlets. The lucky visitor can watch the “Giostra dell’ Oca” jousting tournament, where local riders compete on their horses, and strange boats and crafts racing on the nearby river make interesting viewing. In summer there are many classical music concerts held in the beautiful XIII century abbey only 5km away. The owners are happy to provide information about the little villages and old churches situated in the surrounding area. Tennis, golf and horse riding are all available nearby. Several restaurants, including two ‘top class’ establishments, are within ten minutes drive, and the local village, with all amenities, is within walking distance.

Several stone steps lead up from a gravelled parking area to the garden in which the apartments Belvedere, Solatio and Loggia are located. Visconti is set below with steps leading up to the main garden.

Q: Is it possible to rent an apartment at TORRE ANTICA for less than a week?
A: Out of high season it is possible to rent an apartment for a short period of time - for example, for 3 or 4 days, depending on availability but please contact us in the first instance on 01553 810 003
Q: It is possible to have breakfast served?
A: All the TORRE ANTICA apartments have a kitchen facilities and the food shops in the town are also open Sunday. It is however possible to have breakfast provided at a small extra cost.
Q: For those arriving in Italy or in the Chianti area for the first time, how is it possible to organize trips and excursions and who should they contact?
A: The owners are on hand every day to advise guests, should they need help in finding and, if necessary, booking the most interesting and amusing places in this special area in Italy.
Q: Are there any especially typical guarnteed products in the area?
A: TORRE ANTICA is more than happy to help clients buy speciality foods such as guaranteed origin oil and wine produced near our property. We can also point out various artisans who produce the typical Chianti terracotta pottery or show you where the most important area in Italy for the production of glass and crystal is.

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €150, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.
Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
