The "low Sabina area" offers a unique and fascinating environment. Rome is only 55km south, but here nature and villages are still the way they were. Valleys and mountains, with their little "stone house" villages, still evoke their ancient history. There is plenty to visit and discover within the landscape and traditions of this territory, rich in opportunities for active holidays; from history to nature, from mountain hiking to cycling through ancient villages, tasting the delicious local cuisine and typical products and, much much more...
The charm of this relatively unknown area, with its olive groves and vineyards and its proximity to the medieval and renaissance delights of Italy, makes it a wonderful place for a perfectly relaxing and cultural holiday. In this idyllic location you are within easy reach of the hill towns of Etruria, Umbria and southern Tuscany. Within about a half hours drive are the Sanctuary of Vescovio, the Abbey of Farfa, the Church of S. Andrea in Flumine and the Church of S.Elia (Nepi). The natural reserves of Tevere-Farfa, Monte Soratte, Monte Rufeno, Selva dell'Amone and the WWF Oasis of Pian S. Angelo and Alviano with Monti Reatini are within easy reach and offer bird-watching opportunities and hiking. Other wonders for the interested and independent traveller include the Etruscan Necropolis around Viterbo, the Marmore Falls, the Monster park of Bomarzo, the cities of Viterbo (with its thermal baths), Tuscania and Civita di Bagnoreggio. The lakes of Bolsena, Vico, Martignano and Bracciano and the cities of Todi, Spoleto, Narni and Orvieto are about an hours drive. Also within easy reach for day trips are Perugia, Arezzo and Siena. Sabina and its surroundings are a niche of arts, history and culture to be discovered and visited. Poggio Catino, a characteristic medieval village is within 5 minutes drive. Poggio Mirteto, slightly larger in scale and with banks, market, trattoria's, pharmacy, post office and all kind of shops, is within 10 minutes drive.
Accommodation
A furnished loggia on the side of the house is the ideal place for just chilling out and marvelling at the views this house has to offer. From here a door into the very spacious living/dining room with wood burning fire. The kitchen is equipped with oven and hob and fridge/freezer. Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower. Double/twin bedroom with stairs to first floor. Bathroom with bathtub. First floor: huge bedroom with double/twin beds.
Grounds
A furnished loggia opens up from the side of the house. The gardens are very pretty and well planted; the owners are a landscape gardener and a geologist and they live just a short stroll away further up the hill. The rear garden is mainly laid to lawn and, along with its octagonal swimming pool, just melts into the landscape.

The owners live in a nearby house and are available to all guests for any help.

Access road
White road for a couple of km is a little rough in places but its Italy, it's fairly typical and you don't get views like this by staying on the autostrada!

Security Deposit
On arrival you will be asked for a security deposit of €250, payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental.
Arrival Times
Arrivals expected between 16.00 - 19.00 hrs. If you are going to be late, you MUST advise us or the owner/keyholder in advance. Property to be vacated no later than 10.00am on day of departure.
